Mission/Vision Statement:

Hello from Alaska! I am Scott Kirby and thank you for looking at our short-term mission projects. Our purpose is to help individuals and churches to become personally involved in global missions.
I have a Th.M from Dallas Theogical Seminary and a doctorate in missions from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. I pastored for 14 years and have led this work for the past 14 years. Over these past 14 years I have led approximately 100 overseas mission groups involving almost 3000 people. Our primary fields of focus are Romania, Alaska, and Kenya.
I would love to help you or your church get involved in a overseas mission project this year. Non-USA applicants are welcome! Below, I have listed some endorsements, a listing of church groups I recently led, and an article on Travel in Troubled Times. We need your help! Drop me an email and let's get started.

“Thanks for all you did for our church and teeenagers. Thanks for all you did for my wife and I. This trip changed our lives …” Youth Pastor from Missouri

“Scott gave us rubber bands to wear around our wrists to remind us to be flexible. But for me it meant, ‘Be Stretched!’” Kenya Team Member

“Thank you for the tremendous role you played in the success of our ‘expedition.’ We could not have done it without you. We pray that your ministry continues to prosper for His glory.” June 2002 Team Note

“Thanks again for helping us to get started on mission trips. It has changed my life, my family, and our church.” Pastor from Blanchard, LA

“It was the greatest experience I have ever had.” Jerry from Georgia`

“Before, I had a head for missions. Now I have a heart for missions.” Virlyn from Georgia

Travel in Troubled Times
Is it safe to go on a mission trip?
People want to know, “Is it safe to go on a mission trip?” I have two answers. First, if people want to be “safe”, they should stay home. Travel always involves risk. Also, my Bible tells me that bringing the Gospel to those who have not heard is never a “safe” thing to do. Missions is never “safe.” We have enemies….
On the other hand, we cannot allow fear to keep us from doing the work of God. If we are reduced to living in fear, then the terrorists win. Where is our faith? Danger does not change the Great Commission. If God is in control of our lives, and we are doing God’s work, then whatever happens is in God’s hands.
A pastor told me recently, “We are a little nervous about doing an international mission trip this year. Instead, we are going to do a project in Washington D.C..” I said, “Pastor, what do you think is the Number One terrorist target in the world?” He sheepishly replied, “Washington D.C.?”
We need to be careful not to overreact in fear and caution. Ten million Americans went to Europe last year and not one was killed by terrorists. Air travel security is tighter than it has ever been before. The next US terrorist target will not be an airplane or airport, but a softer, easier target such as a subway, tunnel, power plant or highrise building.
This is a strategic time in global history. They eyes of the world are on America. This is not a time to retreat into our shells and hide like turtles. People want to hear what Americans say. They want to know how our faith makes a difference in a time like this. Many of them are afraid and want to know if God has a word for us at this time. A non-religious Jewish travel agent who helps my groups recently emailed me from Hungary, “What will happen in the near future? I am really afraid of a terrible war worldwide. What does the Lord say now?” Wow! I don’t know of a more important time for us to go. The opportunities are greater than ever before!
In a way, the current events may separate those who really want to serve the Lord at a strategic time in global history, and those who only want to be “Christian Tourists.” It tests our motivations. These are the times that try men’s souls! Have you read what the Apostle Paul wrote? “So now, worried in spirit, I have postponed my trip to Jerusalem because I am afraid of what might happen to me. As a matter of fact, the Holy Spirit has warned me that I will have trouble on this trip. My life is too dear to risk it on this trip testifying of the Gospel of the grace of God. Acts 20:22-24 YBCV.” (YBCV – Yellow Bellied Coward Version).
Not only must we be brave, but we must also be wise. Therefore, having said all of this, I do promise to do all I can to keep my groups safe. This may mean flying foreign airlines, avoiding “tourist” places, avoiding Muslim areas, and teaching my groups how to keep a low profile while traveling. There are almost non-existant populations of Muslims in Romania and Moldova, and my Kenya teams work in non-Muslim areas in the central highlands. People in all three of these countries love Americans.
One other thing. The world has changed and this terrorist threat is not going to go away quickly. Those who think that they will wait this thing out until more favorable times will wait a long, long time. We will have to learn to live under this new threat-situation for a long time. We are told that the probability is 100% of new terrorist incidents. We must not panic when these things happen. At a time when everything was coming unglued, Jesus told his disciples, “Let not your heart be troubled… (John 14:10.)” God commanded Isaiah, “Say to those with anxious heart, ‘Take courage. Fear not.’” (Isaiah 35:4) Scott

"We still regard security as our birthright and 'safety first' as a prudent motto. Where is the spirit of adventure? Where are the Christians who are prepared to put service before security, compassion before comfort, hardship before ease? Thousands of pioneer Christian tasks are waiting to be done, which challenge our omplacency, and which call for risk." John Stott, Cross of Christ, p 288.

Doctrinal Statement:

We believe in the Trinity,
the full deity and full humanity of Christ
the spiritual lostness of the human race
the substitutionary atonement
the bodily resurrection of Christ
salvation by faith in Christ alone
the physical return of Christ
the authority and inerrancy of Scripture.
